Meriwether BARTLEY was the grandson of John BARTLEY who was born to Thomas and Elizabeth BARTLETT of Richmond Co, VA. John married Anne SETTLE in Richmond Co then moved to Culpeper Co, VA abt 1760; and then to Fluvanna Co, VA about 1791 where he died in 1807. Meriwether married 1817 Fluvanna Co, VA Salley CREASY/GREASY; they are in the Fluvanna 1830 census; the Albemarle 1830 census and then the Augusta Co 1840 and 1850 census. Per these census records, they had 11 children, including 3 males I don't have names for. One son was Woodson Miles BARTLEY b 1826 who is in the Augusta Co 1850 census, as Miles, with Mary age 20. I haven't researched further census on this family, but based on the given name of Woodson, I'd bet he's the father of your ancestor.
