Suzanne;
It appears Henrietta may have not been a BARTLETT, but married one young and had Margaret Ann 1842 DE; J H (male) 1843 MD and M E (female) b 1844 MD. I have tried in vain to find this family in 1850 -they must have evaded the census taker.I'm sure you've see the writeup on Margaret Ann "Maggie"...Of course Henrietta may have had these children out of wedlock; or they could even be her much younger siblings.
I have extracted all the BARTLETTs in the MD census and grouped those records into families - I cannot find one that looks promising before 1850. We do have male BARTLETT DNA for several different MD lines, but it does not look like we can find any male descendants from your line to test.
Several online trees have James d 1841 and Louisa d 1853 as parents of Elizabeth BARTLETT 1814-1849. Because Henrietta went to MO just after Elizabeth died, almost certainly they are from the same family.But I can't locate any James BARTLETT in MD that looks promising.
Do you have any other leads?
