Rex, et all;
We have several men from the UK, Australia and Canada, who have participated in the BARTLETT-DNA Project, but who, so far, do not have any DNA matches.I would like very much to determine the DNA of major BARTLETT lines in the UK.Most of us believe most BARTLETT lines originated in England.
The BARTLETTs of Somerset, UK are one of the lines that should be documented with a "signature" DNA.
To confirm the DNA from a line, we need to have matching DNA from distant cousins (if two first cousins have matching DNA we can only be sure of the line back to their common grandfather.
So far, with matching DNA, we've confirmed 18 separate BARTLETT lines (some with variant spellings: BARTLEY, BERKLEY, etc) - these lines do not share a common ancestor for over 1,000 years (some, like my line, don't share a common ancestor for over 10,000 years).
If you know of male BARTLETTs from UK lines, please encourage them to participate in our BARTLETT-DNA Project.Use this link to sign up (there's a 40 percent saving for new participants in July 2009):
