Denise;
Robert and Catharine are in 1850 Nansemond Co, VA census with 2 sons: Benjamin F 6 and Stephen C 3. They are in Portsmouth City, VA 1860 census, where Robert is a Grocer, with all 4 sons; in 1870 Nansemond Co, VA census Catharine is HOH (so Robert has died) with Richard 19; William 16; Seleta V 22; and Sarah C 7/12 - with your info, we can conclude Richard is still alive; Seleta V b 1848 VA is his wife; and Sarah C b Dec 1869 is their dau.In 1880 Nansemond Co, VA census Richard 29 Single is HOH, with Cathren 60 Widow (Mother); William P 27 (Brother) and Sarah C 11 (Niece).So Catherine lived past 1880 and was taking care of Sarah...I don't know what happened to Seleta.
I'm just trying to sort out BARTLETT families, and I have no info on where they might be buried - sorry.
Also in the Nansemond Co, VA census records is:
George BARTLETT b 1775-94 in 1820 census with 2 sons b 1810-20
Samuel BARTLETT b 1810-20 in 1840 census with an older couple b 1770-80 - probably George ^ wife who would then be Samuel's father, leaving another son b 1810-20 unaccounted for.
William BARTLETT b 1805 Nansemond Co, VA is in Nansemond Co, VA 1830, 40, 50 and 60 census which show 3 sons:
Richard S 1830
Robert James 1834
William T 1840
It appears to me that William 1805 is probably a brother of your Robert b 1819
Do you have any other BARTLETT records from Nansemond Co, VA that would help me sort out these lines?
Thanks
