1799 Settlement then consisted of Mr. Morrill, Moses Elkins, Curtis Elkins and Abel Skinner in Potton [Quebec].In the same winter or spring, James Rines and a Mr. Bartlett moved into Troy, settled south of North Troy on the meadow below Big Falls.

1801 Town incorporated into a Township named Missisquoi.

1801 Curtis Elkins first Town Clerk.Alpheus Moore first representative to Legislature.

1802 Town of Troy organized, name Missisquoi.

1803 Name changed to Troy.

1807 town had 30 taxpayers.

1812 A Fort built during war of 1812.
