Jemima BARTLETT b 15 Nov 1832; d 1 Apr 1908; m 1850 Calvin TYSON b 8 dec 1824 near Bridgeport; he was a WV Legislator and Surveyor; d 23 Mar 1989 (son of John P TYSON and Hannah MILLER)
Jemima was dau of John H BARTLETT 1804-1844; m 1827 Sarah FLEMING 1809-1854 (dau of James FLEMING and Elizabeth WELCH); They lived in the part of Harrison Co that became Barbour Co, VA; and had 7 children (2 of whomdied young)
John H was the son of Thomas F BARTLETT 1777-1850; m 1801 Malinda BARTLETT 1784-1858; dau of John B BARTLETT and Anne BARKLEY; They lived in the part of Harrison Co, that became Barbour Co, VA; and had 12 surviving children.
Thomas F was the son of William BARLTETT 1756-1825; m c1774 Fauquier Co, VA Sarah HATHAWAY 1759-1830; dau of CAPT John HATHAWAY and Sarah TIMBERLAKE; They lived near Simpson, (W) VA; and had 15 children.
William was the son of Thomas BARTLETT c1730-1806; m c1752 Anne; They were both born and raised in Richmond Co, VA; lived in northern Fauquier Co, VA 1769-1785 (through the RevWar period); after Anne died, Thomas m 1777 Sarah CARROLL and took his family to Harrison Co, VA in 1785. Thomas had 15 children who grew to adulthood.
Thomas was the son of Thomas BARTLETT c1703-1783 and Elizabeth of Richmond Co, VA; Thomas had 9 children who grew to adulthood.
Jemima BARTLETT's brother James Vincent BARTLETT 1836-1920 was my great grandfather, and name sake.So we are 3rd cousins once removed.
We have proved the connection to Richmond Co, VA though extensive DNA testing of descendants of Thomas BARTLETT c1703-1783.
