Becky,
My husband's gr-gr-grndmother was supposed to be a Margaret Adams who md. a John Bailey and later married Nathaniel Delavin Twombley.I received a tip from a Mike Bartlett to look in Bates Co. Missouri. He said one of the Bartletts married a Nathaniel Twombley. (Lydia Bartlett & Nathaniel Twombley Sr.1865 Jersey Co. ILL. Census) I was loking for their son Nathaniel Delavin Twombley and his wife Margaret Adams.Sure enough I found that they were married 1869 in Bates Co. Missouri. I haven't sent for the certificate yet.Margaret had a dau. possibly from her marriage to this Bailey or Bayles fellow by the name of Jerusha Jane. Jane later married George Peck in St. Louis-divorced in Macoupin Co. Ill.I have a roll of film here that I rented and today I found them in the 1870 census of Bates co....Nathaniel was at least 9 or 10 yrs younger than Margaret. They have her as Martha in the census age 33 born Ky; Nathaniel age 23?;(hard to read) Nathaniel jr. 1.1/2 born Mo. and Jerusha age 11 born Missouri. This Jerusha I believe to be the Jane I am looking for.I also spotted a Ephriam Bartlett with wife Ruth and family and Morris Bartlett and his family.I just took quick notes but can send you the children's ages if youwant them.Ephriam married a Ruth Twombley and I am pretty sure she is a sister to Nathaniel Delavin Twombley. By searching these Bartletts I hope someone will tell me about the above Margaret Adams Bailey and her daughter. so I can search the correct line. Let me know if you know this lady. Thanks
Susan
