Hi:

Jane Bartles' mother was a Maria Wolf, a full blooded Delaware princess who married the German officer Bartles who escaped from French imprisonment, went thru Holland and came to America. He was a prominent citizen in the PA/Del area.

There is a paper trail to confirm this. I don't have it at my fingertips. A couple of women in the SW US gave me this info.
