my gg grandmother wa louisa bartleman who was the duaghter of george bartleman (a cordwainer or shoemaker) and jane o'keefe (i suspect you have this marriage certificate). george's father on the certificate is william bartleman also a cordwainer but I have no further information backwards. William may have married Susannah Farley but this is not proved. George is born around 1826 in chelsea, london and his children are both in newington, surrey and islington, middlesex.George and Jane had at least six children:
georgina jane who married in 1874 but not sure of husband
alice who married alfred norris
louisa who married henry john wilkes
sarah alice who married charles frederick booth
george henry who married harriet mould pope
and annie caroline who married john richard stockman
most of which seem to have maintained connections with the shoe trade.by 1901 census, george henry had had two children both girls (georgina and irene) so it would appear that the trail of bartlemans disappear in this branch.
I mistakenly have the certificates for George Bartleman (surgeon) marring Emma Coles in 1849 as well as the birth certificate of Louisa Bartleman duaghter of William Bartleman (a boot clicker) and Isabella Guiver in 1857.
The only certificate I have is george and Jane O'Keefe marriage so any more information would be gratefully received
