Back--Here is what I have on John Bartholomew, son of William. He was born 1679 in Branford, New Haven, CT; His first wife was Elizabeth MORRIS, daughter of Edward MORRIS and Elizabaeth BOWEN. She was born abt 1680 and died 12 March 1702/4 in Woodstock, Windham, CT. She and John married 28 Jan 1702/3, so they had only been married one year when she died.
John's second wife was Mercy HARRINGTON whom I wrote about yesterday. She had four children by her first husband, Ebenezer FRISBIE: 1. Samuel (b. Sept 1701; d. Sept 1754, m. three times); 2. Mary (b. Sept 1711 m. John LINSLEY); 3. Abigial (b. 1707 m. AWilliam Barker) and 4. Mary (ohh--got to check that one; 2 Marys?) (bp Oct 1711, m.1. Zachaiah HOW and 2. Caleb JONES)
John Bartholomew maied Hannah abbot, a widow on 2 Jan 1738/9 at the first Congregational Church of woodstock as his third wife.
John had foru known children, all by his second wife, Mercy HARRINGTON:
1. Enos Bartholomew, d. 1797
2. Elizabeth Bartholomew, b. 13 Oct 1715, m. Jospeh DARWIN Jr. in 1738; they had two sons, Aramna Darwin b. 9 Jan 1739/40 and Uzziel Darwin b. 30 Nov. 1741. Elizabeth died shortly after Uzziel's birth as Joseph married again in Feb. 743/4.
3. John Bartholomew, b. 4 June 1717 m. Jerusha ? [NOTE: Donald Jacobus says John maried Jerusha; Geore Wells Bartholomew says he may have mrried Hannah Abbot, daughter of William and Hannah Abbot and "went west". GWB notes that a John Bartholomew "was in CApt. Coan's company, Brig. Gen'l Waldo's regisment of foot raised for an expedition against Canada in 1746, enlisting Augsut 5 of that year..."}
