The family name Bartholomew is said to be descended originally
from the Boernicians. This ancient founding race of the north were a mixture of Scottish Picts, Angles and Vikings. A race dating from about the year 400 A.D.
They formed Scottish clans and were descended from the ancient Earl of Lennox from whom the royal family of Scotland are descended.
