The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, June 11, 1908

On Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. S.L. SMITH, occurred the marriage of their daughter MAUDE, to ORLO BARTHOLOMEW, of Minneapolis, Minn. Miss Jessie Pedigo played Mendelssohn's
wedding march as the bridal party entered the parlor, where Rev. Evans, of the M.E. Church spoke the words which united their lives and fortunes. Only the relatives and a few intimate friends were present to witness the ceremony.

The bride was dressed in white swiss trimmed in lace and insertion, and
carried a bouquet of bride's roses. She is a pleasant and modest young lady
of refinement and culture. She was a graduate of the class of 1904, and has
for several years been employed in the abstraact and loan office of G.W.
Larimer. The groom is a product of Chariton, a graduate of the Chariton
High School, and is a promising young man.

They received many useful and beautiful gifts. A reception was held at the BARTHOLOMEW home during the afternoon to a large company of friends. Dainty refreshments were served. They left on No. 4 Saturday evening, for their
home in Minneapolis, which the groom has in readiness, followed by the best wishes of their many friends for their future happiness and prosperity.
