I am a direct descendent of John Bartholomew's son, Joseph B., Cynthia's brother. John's brother, as you may know, was General Joseph, for whom the county in Indiana was named. My g-g-grandfather may have been named for his uncle. Joseph B. was born on 4/3/1801 in Green County, PA, married Mary Ann (Polly) Spencer on 2/22/1827 in Perry County, OH. They later moved to Valparaiso, IN and he died there on 4/16/1881. He sired a son,Alvin D. Bartholomew, on 5/20/1843, who later practiced law in Valpo. Many Bartholomews are still in that area.
Let's see if we can't continue to compare notes.
