William age 9 was probably the son of William Bartholomew and Jane Markham married 12/23/1869 in Brown, KS. In the 1879 Census for Brown Co, Irwin or Irving Township, Wm and Jane are living with a Bartholomew family. The head of the house was maybe J. B- the letter is unclear. He was born in OH and was 26 or 36 yrs. Ruth age 41 from OH may be the spouse. There are 5 kids. There was a Wm Edward 1850-1874 in KS. He was the son of Noyce fron the CT clan. I don't know if he's the same Wm that mar Jane. 'J' was a farmer who couldn't read or write, but the farm was listed at $6900, a lot in 1870.
