Could someone please explain the different John Bartholomews in NC? There is a John Bartholomew (wife Virginia) who had a pensioner, John Bartholomew, Sr.(b.abt. 1756), living with him in the 1840 census records. However, there is another John - listed in the census records as John, Jr.
Would John Sr. have named two of his sons John? Why would John,Sr., live with John, rather than John, Jr.? Can anyone help me with this mystery?
