I've been trying to find the Barter part of my family tree. Was wondering if there was
a possible connection to the Boothbay, Maine
branch. My Grandfather James Henry TREFETHEN (1873 - 1958) married
Etta BARTER born 12/10/1872 and died 11/26/1915. Her parents were: Joel Barter born 8/10/1843, died 10/17/1907 and Julia Watts born 6/2/1847, died 2/17/1892. My grandparents lived in Kittery Point, Maine. Etta died when my mother, Nancy Jane was only around three years old. My grandfather was a lobsterman. Any info would be appreciated.
