My greatgrandfather Ferdinand Carl Bartels was born Sept 7 1840. Do not (yet) know about his immigration date.
Married to Mary last name = Voellings(?) born Aug 1848
children include at least the following (per 1900 census in Milwaukee).
George H born Feb 1872
Carrie Feb 1875
Julia Oct 1876
William F Mar 1882
Ferdinand C Jr Feb 1886 This is my grandfather. His only child, Eugene Ferdinand Bartels was my father.
Shown at the same address (in 1900) was Henry B Bartel, born April 1830, listed as brother to Ferdinand
