In 1905, Deputy Sheriff Sam Bartell of Oklahoma County, Oklahoma said he was a boyhood friend of my great-grandfather right after he killed him in the course of doing his job. I don't want to open old wounds or start a feud, but I would very much like to know more about Deputy Bartell. Even a date of death could lead me to an obituary so I could relate his life to that of my ancestor.I am working on a book on my notorious grandfather, and will include your name in the acknowledgements, if your lead gets me to the right place. Thank all you fine Bartells for giving me a hand in this.
