my greatgrandparents were Jacob bartel born in germany 1841 and elizabeth born in germany 1841. Came to USA in 1866 here in Pittsburgh PA. They were the parents of 14 children ( I can only account for 6) Annie 1867,john 1868(my grandfather)henry 1870,Mary 1872, louis 1873, and lena 1877. Elizabeth died on dec 20,1921. Her death notice requested it be printed also in the East St. Louis papers.
