Frances Bartee Butt, daughter of Richard Butt, Jr. of Lower Norfolk Parish, married Horace James Butt, a distant cousin about 1759. Their son Lemuel had a dughter named Frances Bartee who marries Samuel willis Hope. Their son Horace James Jr. married Sallie Stevenson, then Jane ? and then Esther Gordon in Gates County, NC. His son with Esther, Horace James II married Olivia Ann Creekmur and lived in Bonneron, Beaufort County, NC. Their daughter Martha Rebecca married Benjamin Burton Ross. Their son Clyde Vernon married Lenore Marie Hicks. Their daughter Ola Sydney Ross is my daughter's maternal grandmother.
