I show a william Barstos b. 1514, Halifax, Yorkshire, m. 15 sept 1539 to Elizabeth Wollar b. 1518 same place; Son: John Barstow b. 1534, Bentley Rise, Yorksh. m. 3 feb 1561, Halifax. D. 29 Apr 1565, Halifax, Yorksh. Son of John: MATTHEW BARSTOW B. 29 JUNE 1565, at Shelf, N.Halifax, Yorksh.
John Barstow m. Isabel Gledhill, b. 1541, at Sowerby, Yorksh. Her father was Gilbert Gledhill. Wife of MATTHEW BARSTOW B. 1565 was Isabel Hill, b. 1592. I am descended from this Matthew Barstow 2 ways. Through son William Barstow b. 1612 of W. Riding, Yorksh, m. 8 May 1638 at Dedham, MA to ann Hubbard. This William considerd 1st settler in Hanover, MA. The other connection is to Elizabeth Barstow b. ca 1619 from Yorksh Engl. d. 24 Dec 1672 at Scituate, MA. she married William Randall, "shoemaker of London." He d. 13 Oct 1693, Scituate, MA. I do not have any of the other family members. this is from Ancestor Charts, and no sources to quote.
