I am trying to find information about John Donaldson (12/22/1852-10/25/1926) whos parents came to America in 1856 from (near) Glasglow Scotland. His parents Mr. & Mrs. John Donaldson died within 2 years of arrival and John was adopted by the J.L. Barstow family of Norwich, Conn. I have found him on the 1870 census at the age of 17 living in New London, CT with a John and Julia Barstow. In 1910 he was a postmaster in Barnum, Minn.
He may have lived most of his adult life in Minn. He married Amanda (Addie) Lambert and they had 4 children; Vern J, Ruth, Ray & Edward. I am trying to trace his (birth) parents names and make a connection to Scotland.
