I have Barry letters from Blackrock, Cork; London, Lisbon, Jamaica, and Tenerife.James Barry, a gggg uncle, who had a daughter named Mary, who died without issue of TB in about 1815-20, was consul general to America from Portugal. His nephew, James D. was my ancestor. These Barrys were merchants, who owned ships and traveled extensively and often everywhere. My gg grandfather, Griffith Coombe Barry, went to California as a young man for a couple of years. This is just FYI stuff in the event you stumble on to something.I haven't been able to trace back further than Uncle James in spite of all the information I have. The name Barry in Cork is like Smith here.
