I am researching my mothers family. Her father was Shelby Barry who was born in Daykin, NE March of 1902. He lived most of his adult life in Smith Center, KS passed away, Aug. 16, 1940. His siblings include: Lloyd Thomas, William McAllister, Alice Pearl, Velma Agnes Barry- Fuller, Anna Olive Barry-Stevens, George Y.,Ralph Warren, Leland Hale,Catherine Barry Hubbs. Their parents were William Henry Barry born 1858-1860 in IL. He was the son of Thomas Barry born 1823 Ireland and Catherine O'Brien born 1823 Ireland. William married Lettie McAllister who was born abt 1860 in PA. I am looking for any information anyone might have on Thomas Barry or wife Catherine (Kate) O'Brien. I know that at one time they lived in Gage Co. NE. I believe Thomas may have served as a union soldier in the civil war. I also believe they met and married in N.Y. around 1853.
