My name is James Charles Barry, I was born in Peckham London in 1927 ( I am a Freeman of the City of London)I have three sons John ( ex Wing Commander RAF at sometime attached to Pentagon USA), Peter ( twin to John) and Philip.
My father was Charles Benjamin Barry born 1900 Bermondsey London. Married Alice Laws 1921.His father was James Barry
born 1870 Bermondsey London ( Music Hall Artist) married 1890 Ellen Bryant He joined British Army aged 44 and died at the battle of the Somme in France in 1916 (aged 46)His father was James Barry born 1844 Bermondsey married Elizabeth Martin 1868. His father was Richard Barry born 1817 in Cork R/C Church Inchigeelagh Parish married Mary Ambrose 1835 Cork R/C Church Dromtarriff Parish. His parents were James Barry and Ellen Reardanand that is where I'm stuck no dates for their births or marriage Richard must have come to Lodon at sometime as he was still there at the 1881 Census aged 64.We understand that about the time he left Ireland he had siblings who were supposed to be priests.
Any information would be most welcome. Jim Barry
