SHREVEPORT, LA - Claude Franklin Barron, age 80, of Shreveport, LA, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at The Grace Home in Shreveport. He proudly served his country as part of the Seabees Battalion of the US Navy. He also served his community is several ways. He was employed by Southwestern Bell for 40 years and served as CWA Local 12118 President in Longview, TX for 12 years; Vice-President of AFL-CIO District 1, President for 12 years of the Board of Trustees of SBC Savings and Retirement Trust District 6 and he was appointed by Governor Dolph Briscow to East Texas Health System Agency. He also served on the Board of Directors of Greater Longview United Way Budget Committee.
Arrangements are being handled by Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA, where the family will greet friends from 5:00pm til 7:00pm Thursday, September 17, 2009. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Henderson, Texas at 1:00pm on Friday, September, 18, 2009.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Audrey Faye (Walker) Barron; two sons, Raymond Allen Barron and wife, Minnie and Walter Franklin Barron and wife Lisa; one step-son, Marty Ray White; one step-daughter, Mitzi (White) Walkup; one sister Margarette Minshew and husband, James, one brother-in-Law, Robert Allen and wife, Yulanda; sister-in-law, Lil Barron as well as a host of friends.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Drs. Cheyl Smith, Paul Schuler, Paul Davis and the staff of Grace Home for their loving care.
