He seems to be the son of Thomas Barron from Edgecombe Co., NC and Obedience Rogers. The elder Thomas was in Georgia by 1790 when he gave testimony that a horse had been stolen by the Indians from John Rogers.
I think the elder Thomas and his wife were ennumerated with Thomas C. Barron in the 1830 and 1840 censuses as witnessed by the ages of the people in the household.
I believe that the elder Thomas also had sons John, James and Barnabas. He died c1854 but I don't have a copy of his will or probate. These may can be obtained in Jackson Co.
