I had come across this note:
Barronsfield -Named in 1765 after Captain Edward Barron, one of the early settlers.

The only other info I have on the Barrons is that Captain Edward Barron's daughter Anne married Charles Baker, a Loyalist born 1743 in Virginia, died about 1836 in Amherst, Nova Scotia. It is likely that Edward Barron was a Captain in the British or Loyalist army.
