Hi Erica, thanks for your message. I have tried the PRO at Kew and have found 6 monthly returns he wrote from Jan 1819 to June 1819 giving details (wages) of the two gunners under him. This was in WO10/1330. I found nothing in WO97, this applies only to soldiers who were discharged.James may have died in service as he was in the Invalid Reg or bought himself out. I will try Royal Ordnance pensions in WO116 next time I go.I have no idea where he was born.
