Thomas Charles Barron (1842-1920) of LA
I have a copy of a letter written by Thomas Charles Barron from Pineville, LA, on Sept. 2, 1914, to Marion Roper. These men had served together in Co. G of the 28th LA Infantry in the Confederate Army.In the letter Thomas states that "I was married in January 1867.We have five sons and six daughters... eleven all told, and they are all living yet.My baby is grown and married, so you see how we have been favorably blest."Previous to seeing this letter, I thought that Thomas and Jane Nugent Barron had only ten children as follows:
William Henry b. 1868
Lilly Ann b. 1869
Florence Eugenia b. 1872
Thomas Alvin b. 1874
Alethia Alice b. 1877
Charles Wesley b. 1879
Jane Elizabeth b. 1881
Ula Laurette b. 1883
Ida Averilla b. 1888
James Ivy b. 1890
This list contains four sons and six daughters, so one son is missing. The gap in births from 1883 to 1888 may indicate where the missing son belongs.Does anyone have information on this son?
