Greetings to Barrios researchers. Welcome to the multitude of different ways that census takers spelled this Spanish name. I have counted about 28 different ways. So when you begin to look, don't stop at BARRIOS. Check BARREJOS, BADEYOS,BARIO, BALLEOS, and I could go on forever ... at least 28 of them. I guess when people who don't speak or spell Spanish talk to people who may not be able to either read or write or spell in English, names get mixed up. I have checked census in New Mexico looking for Eutimio Barrios and found Utimio Bario in 1910. He was born in New Mexico in 1855 and I have not been able to find him in census of 1860-1900. At least not under that spelling. Would like to see if anyone else has? Please respond email-Dmoris843@aol.com.
