Doug,
A couple of things caught my attention in your message--don't know if it means anything or not, but Alexander and Elizabeth are both prevalent in my tree, EARL was a surname in mine, and men with 4 names was common, e.g. my great-grand father was Thomas Edwin Earl Watson. His mother was Susan Barrington (f: John Barrington of Ireland; m: Elizabeth Earl of Ireland) Where are your people from?Mine, Quebec, Canada. This entire family disappeared, said to have "gone south" in the Barrington history.South where, I don't know. That is what I am trying to learn.Susan and Hannah, her sister, I know, went to Leavenworth, Kansas. There were 6 other siblings and the mother I am still trying to track down. Father died in Canada in 1856.
If any of this fits anything you have, however vague, I would appreciate the info.
