Thanks, Marie for a response on Barringtons. I know that several sons of James Barrington of Haywood County, Tenn. went to Arkansas but I can't prove for sure that my ancestor John was one of them. He went to Alabama and died there before 1860. His son John H. married into the Bounds family in Mississippi and then went on to Texas after the Civil War. Can you tell me anything else about the families in Arkansas? I feel sure they were somehow related and some of the Texans moved there later on. The Barringtons were in the country by the late 1600's in Norfolk County, Va., then in North Carolina before moving west. Let me hear from you again. Joan bbholt@msn.com
