More information about Sarah. Her father was William Barrington. Her mother was either Susanna Coffey or Susanna Armstrong. William and Susanna came over from Ireland with their first 3 children; William Jr. (called Billy), Mary Francis, and Sarah Ann. They all arrived in New York and took the Miami Erie Canal to Auglaize Co., OH. William apparently went to Auglaize because 2 of his brothers were there. One brother was a Squire with much land. William Jr. was a Union Soldier and was killed in the Civil War in 1864. He was burried in Alabama. Mary Frances married John Ryan. He too was a Union Soldier. He was taken prisoner of war. After the war he and several other prisoners were released and sent on a Mississippe riverboat back to the north. The boat exploded and John Ryan was killed. They had 1 daughter Sarah Ann Ryan. Mary Francis died when Sarah Ann Ryan was 2 years old. ... General Barrington was involved in the Battle of Boyne in 1690. William of Orange defeated James II there.
