Abraham Barrier, NC and KY

I've been surfing the internet here (I should be at the grocery store...), and for what it's worth, I've found some interesting things.

Keeping in mind what Linda said (thanks Linda, this helps a lot!):

"Bladen County, North Carolina was created in 1734 (from New Hanover and Bath (which was disconntinued in 1739).

Anson County was created out of Bladen in 1750.

Anson County was the parent county for Rowan County which was formed in 1753.

And Rowan County was the parent county for Burke County which was formed in 1777.

And Spartanburg County, South Carolina was form in 1785 from District 96."

***

1759 - There is an Abraham Berriger on the 1759 Rowan County Militia List (ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/nc/rowan/military/revwar/militia.txt).

1760 - An Abraham Berriger is one of the surveyors for some land in Rowan County, NC.

1778 - An Abraham Barer 'enters' to buy some land in Burke County, NC. (Do I have that right?) (Keep in mind that Burke Co. came out of Rowan in 1777.)

1784 - There is an Abraham Barger on a tax list in "Hert." (?), NC. (Can you clarify, Linda?)

1790 - There is an Abraham Barber on the 1790 Census of Anson County, NC. (ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/nc/anson/census/1790/1790ansa.txt) (Could he have been called Barber? I don't know.) There is one free white male over 16 and/or head of family, 3 white males under 16 years of age, 4 white females, 0 other free persons, and 0 slaves.

1800 - No Barriers or anything close in Anson County, NC, in 1800.

1800 - There is a Barger (all we have is the last name) in Burke County, NC, in 1800 (ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/nc/burke/census/1800/burke00.txt).

1810 - There is a Barber on the 1810 Anson County, NC Census. All it gives is the last name. (ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/nc/anson/census/1810/ans1810.txt)

1810 - Abraham Barrier, age 45+, is on the 1810 Census of Pulaski County, KY. (http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ky/pulaski/census/1810/)

1810 - According to Stephanie, there is an Abraham Barrem on the 1810 Census of Rowan County, NC.

(Again, the question begs itself, how can one man be on two censuses in the same year? These weren't tax lists, they were censuses.)

1810 - No Barriers or anything close in Spartanburg, SC, in both the city and county censuses.

I need to stop here before I lose my mind. I hope this is useful to someone!

(Who is very grateful that her all ancestors have lived in the same town, San Antonio, for the past 250 years!)
