Hi Linda
Abraham being part of the surveying team is very good, but of course it does not define the relationship.
Here is what I have:
1759 Tax List of John Burnett as Geo Henry Borgr
1759 Rowan Co Tax List-Charles Bearyer - my line
1759 Militia -Abraham Berriger & Chas Berriger - Col Alexdr Ozburn & Maj Dunn
1760 George Henry Berger in Capt Michaels Militia Company
1761 Charles Barier-he is mentioned on Rowan Co taxables Summonsed:
1761 Michael Brown's tax list
Abraham Bereya
George Berrer
Michall Bereya
1768 Charles Barger -Tax list of John Ford
1768 Ebram (Abraham) Barager
1768 Michel Barager and sons John and Phillip
1783 Tax list of Thomas Morrison- Abraham Barrier
1800 census: Rowan Co
Chas Berger 414:07
George H Barger 299:02
John Barger 299:03
1810 census Rowan Co:
Abraham Barrem 318:13 (May not be the Abraham we're talking about)
Phillip Barrer 241:04
Henry Barrier 298:30
Nicholas Barrier 300:06
Coty (Catherine) Berger 270:18`
Now put that with what you are saying about Abraham which is that he was born in 1741 married Reynold s in Lincoln Co in 1760.They had children John b 1767, Richard b 4 Feb 1768 Spartanburg SC....m Catherine Massey in 1789 (in Lincoln Co?)
1778 Martin is born in Burke Co, NC
In 1783, Abraham declared most undesireable Torrie in Spartanberg, SC
In 1794 Sarah "Sally"Barriermarries Patrick Rogers in Clark Co, Ky
Hannah was said to be born in Spartanburg in 1785 and married Copenhaven in Pulaski Co, Ky in 1800.
So this says Abraham removes for Spartanburg, SC prior to son Richards birth 4 Feb 1768in SC (please note Abraham appears on 1768 Rowan Co tax list) and then to Burke Co by 1778 where Martin was born and then back to Spartanburg to be declared an undesireable Tory in 1783 (note how he was on Rowan Co tax list in 1783) Sells his Burke Co grant in 1784 and goesto Clark Co, Ky by 1794 and Pulaski by 1800.Wonder where he was between 1784 and 1794?Spartanburg perhaps?

1800 & 1810 Census Rowan Co, NC
(Please also note that my Charles Barrier descendants have names such as George, Phillip, Jacob and Henry which is also true ofGeorge H's presumed brothers: John, Phillip and Jacob and his son Henry.
Hopefully you can see my dilemma.
bye
