Mr. Floyd Barrier, age 82, died Tuesday, April 18th 2006 at the VA
Medical
Center in Asheville. He was born the son of the late Empsey Barrier and
Annie Avery Barrier on February 13, 1924 in Burke County.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his sister
Bertie
Mull and a daughter Daphne Farnsworth.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years Bessie Barrier; a daughter Maxine
Evans
and her husband Ray of Morganton; brothers, Claude Barrier and wife
Paulette
of Drexel, Herman Barrier of Valdese, Allan Barrier and wife Euleta of
Morganton, and Bunt Barrier of Georgia; sisters, Mary Beach of Drexel,
and
Fannie Barrier of Morganton; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren,
and 1
great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 22nd 2006
at
Kirksey Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park
with
the Reverend George Patton officiating. The family will receive friends
Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kirksey Funeral Home.
