Mr. Wells with the help of a cousin did extevsive reasearch for years. The Barrier
family lived the the village of Saint Antheme
in France at least since 1510. By 1552, our
direct ancestor, Francois Barrier, lived in
the nearby village of Chalard. His home is still owned by two cousins, although in ruins. Gregorire Barrier grandson Micahel leftfor Wurttembert between 1710-1720. Michael was Abraham's father. The earliest record ofMichael and sons george and abraham was in Rowen co. N.C. Mr C.L.Kirkland published the book on all this andancesters. It is a very informative book on the Barriers. His address
is 1832 Willaneel Dr. Jackson, Ms. 39204. He
still has books left. Worth it for the info. Dee
