Herve, My ancestor, Michel Barrier, a/k/a Johann Michael Barrier (with variouus spellings) is said to have been born in Auvergne, France. In 1732, when his oldest son, Abraham, was born, he was a resident of Wurttemburg. He arived in the Pennsylvania Colony in 1752, with a wife, Katherine and two sons, George Henry and John. A fourth son, Jacob, was born in Pennsylvania. The family moved to Rowan County, North Carolina in 1761. The most of the descendants of John use the spelliing "BARRIER" - Descendants of George Henry mostly use "BERGER" & "BARGER"

I would love to exchange information.
