If you will look at my response to Ms. Zickafoose's post on the Barrickmans of Monongalia Co., WV, you will see that there was a Friedrich Barrickman who is last known in Fayette Co., PA in a 1788 tax list.
Your message makes this quite interesting. I have made little stabs at trying to figure out where this Friedrich / Frederick went to, with no helpful results.
He had a daughter, Catherine, born in 1784, by wife Sara. The child's baptismal sponsors in Jacobs Lutheran Church, German Twp., Fayette Co., PA, were possibly at least Friedrich's father, John "Bergman" with wife Catherine.
Have you turned up a Catherine who seems associated with the Frederick you mention?
Would you be kind enough to give title and publication data on the book you mentioned?
