Hi Jeannette, When I said that “I believe that they may be 98% right”, I thought that is would be obvious that it came from my personal calculations. Had I read this at the PRDH’s web pages, I would have said so.

When I was first introduced to PRDH by someone at one of the forums, those were the %s that they thought were about right. Then for several years I purchased between 2500 and 3000 hits from PRDH and found perhaps 5-10 records that did not agree with the information that I had. PRDH set me straight or made the corrections. The 98% is not what they claim, it is from my observation.

In Sept. 2009, I realized that a lot of researchers at the different forums did not realize that they could trace their French/Canadian ancestors to the 1600s and many of them could not read French to translate the great stories. So I decided to post the first few generations of all my ancestors. With their aka names that was well over a thousand of them. You can find my list at the Quebec Forum message #7574.

The footnotes that you read twice, evolved over the pass couple years as individuals asked me questions. At first I did not have any footnotes. I was not smart enough to realize that some people would want to know what my sources were.

Sometime this year (I believe around May) someone asked me how they could get in touch with PRDH, so I added another footnote. Unfortunately I made a typing error when I said “their records are about 18% accurate”. If I thought that they were only about 18% accurate, I would never have used their information and for sure I would not have given their web page to anyone. I have a list of Forums and the numbers of all my post.

Right now I am doing a lot of volunteer work with the homeless veterans and I take care of my 97 year old Mother, so I am not sure when I will make the correction from 18% to 98%. I will try because it is not fair to PRDH.

Yesterday I posted the last of my ancestors, so I won’t be making that mistake again. Jean Barette was not my ancestor. He was the second husband of Jeanne Bitouset, one of my 7th great grandmothers.

Thanks for catching my BIG error. Most people that get in touch with me are grateful and not so picky.

Have a great day, Janet
