Hi Karin,

My records show Pierre Amable Barette m Marie (Josette) Joseph 11 Feb 1769 at St. Constant at La Prairie. He was baptised 27 Apr 1764 at St. Constant. His parents: Pierre Barette and Marie Caille. Her parents: are not listed, which is highly unusual. At a later date, at the 1795 marriage of her son Pierre Amable, she was listed as Marie Joseph Boutin. Searching records we conclude she was born "inconnu" or of an unknown father. The only Boutin in the area at the time of her birth was Jacques Boutin who married Helene Gagne on 2 Feb 1733 per La Prairie Marriages. But no record of her birth was found. By the way, I am decended from Pierre Barrette of Prairie du Chien,WI.
