Cora Myrtle Crawford Arnold, 81, Fall Branch, TN, died
early Thursday morning at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical
Center following a long illness, Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN.
Born in Hawkins Co TN, she lived there and in Sullivan
County all her life. Cora worked for a number of years in
the cafeterias at McPheeter's Bend Elementary School and
Church Hill High School.
She attended Highland Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert 'Lee'
Arnold; parents, William Carl and Kansas Barrett Crawford;
her sisters, Ruby Barrett and Velva 'Phobe' Davis.
Survivors include a daughter, Julia 'Judy' Crawford White
and husband James of Kingsport, TN; a son, James Arnold
and wife Janet of Kingsport, TN; two sisters, Mary Castle
of Church Hill, TN, and Dessie George of Nampa, ID; two
brothers, Shack Crawford and wife Janie of Mt. Carmel, TN,
Jim Crawford and wife Elsie of Church Hill, TN; four grand-
children, Doug Crawford, Pam Fletcher, Jennifer Housewright,
and Jody Arnold; three great-grandchildren, April Bachman,
Carrie Crawford, and Jake Fletcher; two great-great-grand-
children, Levi and Eli Bachman; and several nieces and
nephews.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for all
the prayers and cards. They would also like to thank the
Church Hill Life Care, the staff of Holston Valley ICU
step-down, Wilcox Hall Third Floor, and the Family Physicians
of ETSU.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
Friday, June 26, 2009, at the Fall Branch Chapel of
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, or any time at the homes of
her son and daughter.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m., Friday in the funeral
home chapel with Rev. Bob Simpson officiating. Rev. Orville
Dolen will serve as an honorary minister. Singers will be
Roy Dolen, Jason Webb, and the Visions of Hope Singers.
Pallbearers will be Fred Nottingham, Nathan Bachman, Tim
Fletcher, Doug Crawford, Jamie Housewright, David Simpson,
Mike Crawford, and Ronnie Crawford.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 27,
2009, in the Light Cemetery in Rogersville, TN.
Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes is
serving the Arnold family.
