Hi Joe,
From your other posts, I can tell we are working on the same line. I have Henry as the third child of Jordan and Elizabeth English (1780-1828) Barrett. Since Jordan and Elizabeth were married 23 May 1799, Henry would have to be at least 1804. I can't place Bennett, the fourth any earlier that 1810 so far. I have the book, "Barrett of Southamton County, Va" compiled by Segar Cofer Dashiell 1962, in my possesion, and, so far, seems pretty complete back to John who patented 100 acres of land in IOW county in 1727. This record states that it was in the part of the county that was cut-off to form Southampton in 1748, and is described in the patent as on the county line betwixt Nansemond and Isle of Wight. It goes on to state that the name does not appear on the 1704 tithable lists for IOW or for any of the ajoining counties. The other two kids I have as Edith and Rebecca.
