Erin,
Hi there. Everything I've seen on your grandfather shows his name as Dausey Eugene Barrett (1874-1955?). I have a photograph of him in his younger days with some Caples (not sure if one of them is Elizabeth). 'Gene' was the youngest son of William Christian Barrett (1826-1887) and Ellen Jane (Huntley) Barrett (1835-1878). William and family came from NC to Titus County, TX with his brother Calvin in the mid 1850's, where they settled in the area west of Mt. Pleasant. Both brothers became owners of significant amounts of land, and there are many Barrett kin still around. There are a few people researching this family, so welcome to the group! Unfortunately, I believe William and Ellen are buried (unmarked) at Grayrock Cemetery, and have had no luck locating them. William's parents were Dominick Barrett (?-1840) and Martha (Faircloth) Barrett. I think they are buried in the Barrett Cemetery in White Store, Anson Co, NC.
