Re: Elizabeth Barrentine(9-9-1831)
Well, here's what I have.My Elizabeth and Jacob produced their own Elizabeth on 9-9-1836.Elizabeth married George Michael Bain (Bayne?) McDuffie in Irwin County, Georgia, on August 1855.They produced my great grandmother, Caroline Bain (Bayne?) McDuffie on 9-14-1857.They also had 6 other children.Caroline married my ggrandfather, Eldred Powell. They had three children, my grandfather, Charlie Robert Powell, was the eldest and there were two girls, Sarah and Lenora. Charlie had moved to Florida before 1907 and his sister Sarah moved there also.Nora died at an advanced age in Valdosta, GA.Caroline was widowed for the first time before 1888 and was widowed twice more before she was 40. I don't think that any of these Barrentines ever moved to Florida.
All of my Barrentine information came from one of Caroline's granddaughters, but she got it at a family reunion and coulnd't remember who gave it to her.The dates and places are so specific that I'm sure the researcher must have had original information, but I have not yet had time to followup on the documentation.I'm focusing on finding out about Eldred Powell who is so far rather elusive.
If you would like more info on this branch of the Barrentines, I'll be happy to e-mail you a gedcom file.Good luck on your search.
