I came across this forum quite by accident - the answer to the Barraclough/Benn connection is that June Barraclough (the author) married David Wedgwood-Benn (Anthony's brother). June did quite a lot of research into the Barraclough family tree of which I have some information - by sods law I lent it to someone on 12 Feb 2011 and will not get it back for a while.
