Hi,
I think I can help you out quite a bit. Nelson Jones & Amanda Phelps would be my great-great-great grandparents (have to figure out how many greats). Skip down a generation or two to Nelson Gomon and Candace Amanda Jones and that would be my great grandparents. They live near Montreal then New York area.
The family name is GOMON not GOMAN. Great Uncle Tom's side of the family started using Goman. Nelson's children (William, Gilbert, Charles, Edward, Stella) also included my grandfather Arthur. He was the youngest in the family. Several of his brothers and sister were married and had children before he was born.
I can remember Great Uncle Charlie visiting my grandparents when I was very young. He was a minister and loved to travel. Great Uncle Ed lived in Lake Delton (now Wis. Dells area) and in his later years lived with my grandparents in Baraboo, Wis. Aunt Alice (another of their sister's) also visited. She lived in Portland, Ore.
My mother is Henrietta Marini (age 88) and is the oldest child of Arthur Gomon and his wife Rose Bisch. Mom's the family historian. I've heard of the Street and Rose names before, as well as, Amos Baron (and of course Annette Jones).
We have several gaps on your side. I think Annette and Olive may be sisters, but we questioned that as well.
The family originated in France (we don't know where) then moved to Montreal.
