Hi Vi,
I am quite certain that Jane and Mary are related, making us 4th or 5th cousins. I was at the Manchester Central Library last year search for the records (in that magnificent round central chamber) and found in the Parish Records (or maybe the Bishop's transcripts) the births of the children to Joseph Baron and Elizabeth Waller and I am certain there was a Jane amongst them. My ancestor, Mary, was born Feb. 1774 and was the eldest daughter I believe. It may interest you to know that The Barons were a prominent merchant family, and the mother, Elizabeth Waller, was a descendant of the famous Sir William Waller (the General of the civil war in the 1640s-50s, and thereby descended directly from Sir Richard Waller who distinguished himself at Agincourt in 1415). We can swap much information, so I'll send you an e-mail today.
