My grandmother's maiden name is Baron (or Baren - not sure of exact spelling), and has spoken before of her father (Alexander Baron) changing his name from Barenofski when he moved from Lithuania to the UK. She was born 1906, and is the last born of 6, so he would have moved here much earlier than that. She's still alive, so I will try to find out more. If we are linked somewhere, I have a large amount of linked info on other family branches.
